The War Jaintia Y.S.O. is a social organisation founded in 1985 with its head-quater at Shillong but the area of operation is the whole of War Jaintia under the Amlarem subdivision, Jaintia Hills, Meghalaya, to the south, bordering Bangladesh. It is a registered organisation having its own written constitution. Being the oldest welfare organisation in the area and with all educated office bearers and E.Ms right from the time when it was established till date; this year 2004-2005, the CEC of the organisation decided to propagate the scenic beauty of the area, like water falls, Caves etc. to the world through a web portal in the name of War Jaintia Web. for tourists adventurism in the area, which we hopefully it will indirectly raise the economy of the area and also solve the unemployment to certain extent on one hand and on other, it will serve the people for advertising their produces, etc.  

We are lucky enough that in this term, we have the desired professionals in the field, like our Publicity Secy., Shri. Restar Kassar, who have developed the Web tirelessly during his free time and inserted the Constitution of the Organisation in a separately Web page. His helping team are the Organising Secy., Shri. K.B. Sungoh, the General Secy., Shri. K.L. Pohsnem, the Cultural Secy., Shri. B.L. Talang, Shri. K. Lamare, Asst. Organising Secy., the Vice President, Shri B. Khonglah and the President of the Organisation, Shri E.`tam Sohsley. Most of the compilation  works, write-up, including inserting of some photos  was undertaken by the President himself including formal editing. The final editing was done jointly by the President and the Vice President.         

We are  thankful to  our MLA Shri R.L.Tariang not only  for the Computer system sanctioned by him during 2003-04 under SRWP of the Amlarem Block, which have made the above scheme for developing the Web including inserting of information's and photos easier but also his encourage words and advices. Our thank also goes to the MDCs of our War Jaintia Constituency for  their encouraging words- Our thank also goes to the Headmen of Nongtalang and Lamin, and Doloi, for co-operation whenever we approach them for help and also to Shri K.Pohshna, President, Sunjuk Ki Rangbah Shnong, Amlarem who was ready to be available for any consultation, whenever required.

We are grateful to Proff. L.S.Gassah, for making his seminar papers/books available to the organisation for references-relating to political, socio and festivals of the area and also for his words of advices. Our thankfulness also goes to elders - Ex. Headmaster Shri. A. Khonglah,Shri T.D. Khonglah, Shri. Min Pohrmen, Shri Kun Khonglah, Shri E. Khonglah and others for their encourage words and advices. Our thanks also goes  to Shri. T.
